Congratulations to Landstar independent owner-operator Deb LaBree, who was named one of Women in Trucking’s 2024 Drivers of the Year.

According to Women in Trucking (WIT), this annual award “recognizes outstanding female professional drivers who lead the industry in safety standards while actively enhancing the public image of the trucking industry.”
Out of 60 nominations, LaBree was named one of three finalists for the 2024 award, all of whom were later named winners during a ceremony held at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS), held in Louisville, Kentucky, in March. This year marked the first year more than one driver was named a winner of the award. According to LaBree, she was well-acquainted with the other two women prior to the announcement and is pleased with the organization’s decision to break with tradition.

“The other women also have their own incredible track records within the industry, and it would be impossible to try to determine who is best,” said Landstar BCO Deb LaBree. “We were excited when we all won.”

“Deb LaBree is well-known for mentoring fellow owner-operators in the Landstar network and for her involvement in the trucking industry,” said Landstar Executive Vice President of Capacity Development Rocco Davanzo. “In addition to the work she has done to enhance the image of trucking, this award highlights her dedication to safety. Landstar is proud of her accomplishment.”

LaBree owns Castle Transport LLC with her husband, Del, and first leased to Landstar in 2014. She was awarded a Landstar bronze Star of Quality award in 2018 and a silver Star of Quality award in 2020.
