November 2, 2000 Jacksonville, FL - Landstar System Inc., a safety-first transportation and information services company, launched today a new customer-secured tracking and tracing system that provides customers with completely secured access to the information concerning their shipments.
The new service provides customers with an encrypted encoded web address that links them to their secured site where they can call up information on their shipments. In addition to the usual pickup and delivery data, Landstar's new tracking and tracing system provides users with a full description of each commodity, all stop-off and transfer points, and other details pertinent to each shipment.
"The beauty of our system is that only the customer can look at his freight. No body else has access to it," said Landstar Chairman President and CEO Jeff Crowe. "This is another way Landstar utilizes technology to provide exceptional service to all its customers."
