Jacksonville, Florida - Landstar System, Inc. (NASDAQ:LSTR), a worldwide, asset-light provider of integrated transportation management solutions delivering safe, specialized transportation services, has named Sandy Woodhouse and Tamar Friedel as Employees of the Month.

Sandy Woodhouse is a supervisor of managed business in the company’s Rockford, Illinois operations department. Woodhouse, who joined the Landstar family in October 2004, was nominated after multiple comments from owner-operators about her professionalism in working quickly and efficiently to resolve issues. She was praised for her positive attitude, ability to work well with other departments and her proactive approach.

Tamar Friedel, an executive assistant at the Jacksonville service center, served as the chair of the 2017 Landstar BCO Appreciation Days event celebrating Landstar owner-operators, referred to by the company as business capacity owners (BCOs). Friedel, who was hired in November 2003, was nominated for giving the annual event a fresh look and feel, while reducing overall costs.

Landstar President and CEO Jim Gattoni commended Woodhouse and Friedel for their contributions.

“Sandy and Tamar are great examples of the many Landstar employees who are committed to teamwork and outstanding performance,” said Gattoni.
