Jacksonville, Florida (NASDAQ-LSTR) Landstar System, Inc., a safety-first non-asset based provider of transportation capacity and logistics services, has named Sandra Hill and Lori Roscoe the February Employees of the Month at the company’s service centers in Jacksonville, Florida, and Rockford, Illinois, respectively.
Hill, a region coordinator in Heavy/Specialized Services, has been with Landstar since August of 2005. She was nominated by her manager after he received a letter from the wife of a Business Capacity Owner (BCO), praising Hill for going the extra mile in assisting her husband while he was hospitalized. BCO is Landstar’s term for the independent contractors who provide the company with transportation capacity under exclusive lease arrangements.
“Sandra has a genuine interest and concern for the success of our independent BCOs and sales agents,” said Kyle Abbott, a manager in Heavy/Specialized Services. “She routinely goes above and beyond when they are in need.”
Hill, a native of Brownsville, Tennessee, has lived in Jacksonville for about 10 years. She and her husband John, who is a Landstar BCO, have been married four years. Hill has one son and is excited about becoming a grandmother this spring.
Roscoe, a billing, auditing and account analyst in the Government Processing department, has been with the company since May of 1997. She was nominated by her co-workers for her enthusiastic personality, generosity and willingness to help others.
“Lori is a tremendous asset to the department,” said Government Processing Manager Tammy LaBay. “She is always available to help the management team and her co-workers with any task. She handles all situations with a professional and courteous attitude.
Roscoe is a native of the Rockford area. She and her husband, Steve, have been married for 13 years and she has two adult children. A self professed “summer person,” Roscoe says she enjoys riding motorcycles with her husband in her free time.
Landstar President and CEO Henry Gerkens commended Hill and Roscoe on the level of service they provide.
