May 15, 2000 Jacksonville, FL -- Landstar System, Inc., a safety-first transportation and information services company, announced today the promotion of David Saporito to Director of Equipment and Hazardous Material Compliance. In his new position, Saporito will be responsible for enforcing government regulations concerning equipment inspections, maintenance and proof of repairs, as well as those related to hazardous material shipping.

Saporito joined Landstar in 1996 as Manager of Contractor Services. Most recently he served as a manager of Safety Services.
