Landstar Names Johnson Employee of the Month

June 15, 2003 Jacksonville, Florida - Landstar System, Inc., a safety-first non-asset-based provider of transportation capacity, has named Melanie Johnson, a HazMat representative at the Jacksonville Service Center, Employee of the Month for June.

Johnson, who assists with the placarding and paperwork associated with the shipment of hazardous materials, is often praised by customers, agents and Business Capacity Owners for her professional manner and work ethic. "I wish I could clone her," said Johnson's supervisor, Wes Pace.

"Melanie puts forth extraordinary effort to get the job done and has a reputation for providing quality service," said Landstar President and COO Henry Gerkens. "We are fortunate to have people like her."

Johnson, who lives in Jacksonville, joined Landstar three years ago. She spends her free time with her husband Scott and son Tyler.
