Landstar Names Coram Employee of the Month

June 7, 2002 Jacksonville, FL- Landstar System, Inc., (NASDAQ: LSTR) a safety-first transportation capacity provider, has named Rick Coram, senior programmer analyst, Jacksonville Service Center Employee of the Month for June 2002.

Coram began his career with Landstar in 2000 as a computer programmer in the Information Services department and was promoted to his current position last June. He currently concentrates on developing e-commerce applications for business capacity owners on Landstar's website.

"Rick's attitude and no-nonsense approach to new challenges is contagious," said Landstar President and COO Henry Gerkens. "It is a pleasure to have him on our team. "

Coram lives in Jacksonville with his wife. When he is not working, he enjoys surfing, basketball and fishing.
